????? ?The institute focuses on the research of tea germplasm resources, genetic breeding, ecological cultivation, tea processing, chemical quality, quality standards and safety, the herbal tea of Guangdong, the collection and utilization of tea germplasm resources, etc. It has established the South China Branch of Tea Germplasm Nursery of Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guangdong Tea Germplasm Nursery, and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Tea Resource innovation and Utilization. The institute has developed the first continuous mechanical processing line for congou black tea in China and the processing line has been applied to actual production.
